Welcome to Rose Hill Runners
We are a friendly running and jogging community, which started in August 2014.
WHERE : We meet at Rose Hill Community Centre, Ashurst Way, Rose Hill
Changing facilities and parking are available at the centre, Showers are available for a small charge or free to users of the Gym.
WHEN : Run starts Monday 7pm - Meet in the foyer
HOW FAR : A normal jog is around 5km
HOW FAST : We welcome all speeds, slow and fast!.. if there is enough people we will sometimes split after the warm up and meet back afterwards.
SOCIAL : We often use the Community Centre Bar after our runs
We are a small group of runners with a varying experience, if you are a stronger runner do consider leading (or shepherding) a Monday run which can be a fun way to give back to the group! We aim to build a community of runners who can run together with a mix of leaders. Take a look at our ROUTES page for more info.
Normally we run 5km routes often with a loop if you want to jog less. We jog around Rose Hill estate, Littlemore, Iffley Village, the river and surrounding areas, taking care to avoid main roads as much as possible. When running as one group we run at the speed of the slowest runner often with extensions for faster runners who loop back. If there are enough runners we sometimes split into different speeds
Some of our runners also offer longer jogs and often work towards races so do check out our Facebook page for details if you would like to attend these or offer a run of any length or speed to see if others will join you!
We Meet at Rose Hill Community Centre
We are an independent community group, on all of our sessions you run at your own risk, please look out for each other as well as yourselves!
If you are unable to jog for 20mins without stopping we recommend : COUCH to 5K to help you build up. We welcome beginners but if you are new to running and unsure of your fitness please take care and if at any point during a run you feel you have to stop, please do! If you have any medial concerns please also talk to your doctor
We recommend all runners wear suitable high visibility vests while running, or bright clothes, we do have some spare bibs from the Rose Hill Regeneration project so please so ask for one if you don't have your own! We also encourage head torches if you have one do bring it
